How to chat -- Members only

This chat room is Java-based, and will need a Java-enabled browser, like Netscape 4.0 or higher or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher.  You may need to download a "plug-in" if your browser is not already equipped with Java.  Try it and see.  If you need to download something, you will receive a message, and you can download Java to your computer by clicking this button: 

Procedures for using the Chat Room:

1. Click on the button above.
2. You will be connected immediately to the new Chat Room.
3. Enter a UserName of your choice -- your name, or anything else that seems appropriate.  Then click "Enter chat".
4. There is a menu bar across the top of the window with many features for customizing your chat.  When you're in the chat room, try the different possibilities.
5. You may want to click on the "Maximize" icon on the upper right corner of the chat window, since it gives you a bigger screen area.
6. In the small window at the bottom, you type your messages, and hit <Enter> to post your message.
7. Click on button above when you're ready to enter the chat.
