| Malcolm Ballinger
Talked to Malcolm Ballinger by phone.
Chapters consensus is to declare him a Diplomate Emeritus, and to
recommend to Governng Council that the Emeritus category be established
nationally. We will also request waiving his dues in the future.
Tom Eisentrout
Chapter discussed Tom Eisentrouts status within CPSP. He has missed
every meeting during the past year, but has remained in touch by email. It
seems that his commitments are really in other places in his life,
although he has been consistent in offering his reason for his absences.
|
Recommendation: That Tom Eisentrout be recommended for
re-certification at the March, 2001, Governing Council meeting, but
that he be declared as "Not in good standing." He will
then have until the Fall Governing Council meeting to demonstrate
commitment to CPSP by involvement in Chapter meetings and payment of
dues. |
Chapter meetings
We will alternate online and face-to-face meetings.
For March, 2001 to March, 2002, suggested meetings are:
March, 2001 Plenary face to face
April, May, June, 2001 Online
July, 2001 Princess Anne face to face
Aug, Sept, 2001 Online
Oct/Nov, 2001 Indianapolis face to face
Dec, 2001, Jan, Feb 2002 Online
Kay Myers
Kay shared her processing of the accident she was in last November. The
group was active in helping her to some insights and resolution.
Gino Donatelli
Gino updated the chapter on his search for another position. There are
several possibilities for him at this time. Hopefully, he would like a
position which carries responsibility and also allows him to teach at some
level.
Henry Uy
Henry challenged the chapter to think about what we really mean to each
other. The move of Ben and Kay to another area of the country has
precipitated a need to think differently about our meetings. We spent
about an hour discussing the issues, and reaffirmed the importance of our
commitment to the chapter.
Chapter adjourned for dinner in the Inner Harbor.
Saturday, January 27, 9:30 a.m.
Joe Whalen
Joe updated the chapter on the changes at his institution. Some of his
reactions are in response to the new administrations expectations,
which feel like devaluing the work he is doing. Has considered a change,
but prefers to stay where he is rather than returning to the parish as his
bishop would want him to do.
Ben Bogia
The chapter helped Ben to process some of the emotional residue from
Kays accident. He was able to express his sense of emptiness and
desolation when he realized that Kay could have been killed. Chapter
members were supportive and understanding.
